The SCORE 2024 Season marks the end of the Warrior Built Foundation's 10th anniversary competing in the 57th SCORE Baja 1000 event. "The 2014 was our first ever SCORE Baja 1000 race and we've come a long way since starting with a single dirt bike," said Warrior Built Founder/President Nick Hamm. "It's been an amazing journey starting from using my own equipment and trying to get support from various sponsors. Now, I look back and Warrior Built has accomplished more than I could have ever imagined."
Hamm thanks Armando Carrasco and his son Jose, who races in SCORE, for initially helping them understand what Baja racing was all about. "We didn't know what we were doing in our first years, but now we have a legion of volunteers dedicated to helping veterans compete in the world's toughest off-road races. "Our team is made up of 90 percent veterans from volunteers and pit crews, and we treat everyone the same," says Hamm. "Because of this, over the past 10 years, we've helped many veterans needing to feel they were part of a team again, as well as amputees who never thought they would get back on a motorcycle."
With continued support from SCORE International and sponsors, the Warrior Built Foundation is helping countless numbers of veterans. "We've had some highs and extreme lows over the years, especially with the death of Noah Everman in 2016, who was featured in the Dust 2 Glory film by Dana Brown. But all these events help keep us moving forward and we keep Noah in our hearts and continue in his honor and for other veterans we can help."
